Hi Everyone!
Sorry I didn't post anything yesterday, but after having an absolutely horrible morning I got sick in the afternoon and couldn't post anything.
Not feeling well did give me the opportunity though to lie on my bed and watch some movies.
And movies really inspire me a lot.
I've mentioned this before on my other blog, but there are several movies that tent to get me in the mood to be creative. And there are movies that just give me a peaceful, clear feeling afterwards, which in its turn gives me inspiration to write or draw or something else.
So here are just a few of the movies that I love.
1. The Last Samurai
I know, you wouldn't expect that. But I watched this movie yesterday and I've watched it a hundred times before. I just love the way how Nathan changes while being with the samurai and how he finally finds peace. And I'm a big fan of the Japanese culture, old and new, and this is just one of those beautiful movies that gives me a peaceful feeling. (Even though it doesn't exactly have a happy ending.... hmm...weird). If you've seen this movie what do you think?
2. Bridge to Terabithia
The reason I love this movie so much (and the book) is because it's actually this simple story about two kids who use their imagination to make their lives one big adventure.
I just love the way the movie was shot, it's so well done, while usually the movie is a lot worse than the book, I love the movie better. After seeing this movie I always feel like doing something creative, usually drawing, because Jess draws a lot in the movie.
3. Confessions of a shopaholic.
I have the strange habit of putting on movies while I'm cleaning my room. So that I can hear the movie and occasionally watch a scene. I know I'm weird. Anyway movies like this do not only want me go shopping (lol) but also makes me wanna sort out my closet and things and mix them up and make something new out of them. I really wish I could make my own clothes, but it's also great fun to just buy funny accessories to brighten up old clothes. Or to buy cheap (secondhand) clothes and experiment with them and try and make something new and cute.
So that were three of the many movies I love. And looking back I realize they are all completely different. This is a bit of a short post but I'm stealing my mom's pc here and she needs to get back to work.
If you've seen any of these movies tell me what you thought about them! Do you have movies that inspire you to be creative? If you haven't watched them I really recommend them to you.
Have fun! Oh and tell me if you want me to do something like this again!

I find The Phantom of the Opera a really inspiring story, and I absolutely love that movie. The opportunities, the 'what-ifs' are endless. What was the Phantom's life like before? What would have happened if Christine stayed with the Phantom? It just makes me want to write something that beautiful and inspiring myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're not weird, I always put in a movie when I clean my room. I just like listening to them while I work :)
I loved the phantom of the opera! My friend told me to watch it and ever since the songs are constantly stuck in my head :)
ReplyDeleteHaha well I'm glad I'm not the only one :D
